While living in China, you’ve got to take advantage of the bossed-up local eats you can’t find anywhere else in the world. That’s why, below, we’re giving you three modern Chinese eateries that are well worth a visit:

1. Gentleman Bistro

Gentleman Bistro is a prime place for lads and lasses to meet over drinks in Guangzhou’s magnificent CBD. The bistro, often touted by KOLs as a superior dining spot, has a unique environment and a good atmosphere. With excellent wine and premium edibles, every dish is a winner!

The signature dishes are red oysters, crayfish and bullfrogs, as well as dozens of selected main dishes and appetizers. For drinks, patrons tend to opt for ice-cold draft beers, such as Carlsberg, 1664 and Wind Flower Snow Moon beer.

If beer is not your preferred dinner beverage, Gentleman Bistro also offers wine and spirits. Whether you and your date prefer wine, whiskey, sake or cocktails, there is certainly something here to get that special night started. Gentlemen Bistro stays open until 3am, and the noble kitchen staff work well into the night to prepare epic meals for hungry patrons.

From December 19-25, patrons purchasing a Carlsberg product will receive a free Christmas-themed Carlsberg hat. On December 24 and 25, guests purchasing Carlsberg beverages will be given various branded items.

Whether its barbecue, hot pot or some Chinese stir-fry, saunter over to Chao Chui Huoti for an excellent time and great food. With neon lights and vintage billboards adorning the eatery’s walls, you might even feel like you’re walking through Hong Kong in the ’80s.

Fresh seafood is just waiting to be cooked and served for hungry diners. Popular options on the menu include barbecued beef, roasted shrimp, crab and abalone. Alternatively, maybe you prefer stir-fried dishes, such as the cheese noodles with lobster, sauteed prawns, breaded crab with curry, stir-fired greens or corn with salt and pepper.

Of course, don’t forget to pair your food with a glass of Brooklyn beer, one of the most popular craft beers in town.

3. GXN Live Music & Hot Pot

A popular restaurant that was invested in by soft rock duet Yu Quan, GXN is a must-visit for Guangzhouers who love hot pot. The special triple-flavor hot pot will certainly tickle your taste buds in a euphoric way, with soup options including tomato, spicy red oil and mushroom.

More importantly, GXN has adopted the traditional method of hot pot preparation from the Bashu area in Southwest China – adding tea to the soup base to balance the flavor and prevent you from getting a sore throat while eating.

The interior of the restaurant is composed of antique red walls, wooden chairs, lanterns and flower window frames. On the stage under a unique torii, a resident band performs each night, so that everyone can enjoy live music during the course of their meal!

Patrons tend to opt for ice-cold draft beers with their hot pot, including Carlsberg, 1664 and Wind Flower Snow Moon beer.

From December 19-25, patrons purchasing a Carlsberg product will receive a free Christmas-themed Carlsberg hat. On December 24 and 25, guests purchasing Carlsberg beverages will be given various branded items.
